Giving Back

The following represent our way of giving something back to the communities and dogs that make such a difference in our lives.

Scholarship Fund for Veterinary Students
The Cape Cod Kennel Club Scholarship Fund provides financial aid to veterinary students. The scholarship is awarded annually and is open to Cape Cod residents pursuing their graduate degrees. Interested students should email Cape Cod Kennel Club.
2005 Scholarship recipients:
- Cathy Tuxbury
- Karen Jameson

Muddy Paws 4-H Dog Group
Take a small group of children with a real interest in dogs, add two group leaders from Cape Cod Kennel Club with a wealth of dog savvy and show experience, include some member and financial support from Cape Cod Kennel Club -- and you have a 4-H program that we believe is one of the best there is. Designed for the 6 to 16 year age bracket, this program thoroughly introduces children to the world of dogs. Children in "Muddy Paws" must have their own dog and be willing to:
-
Participate in 4-H dog shows demonstrating their show handling, obedience, and canine knowledge
-
Participate in a 4-H visual presentation; and
-
Participate in Muddy Paws community service projects. If your child really loves dogs, this is a tremendous learning experience. For details, contact Judy Dow (508-428-2720).

Donation Program
Cape Cod Kennel Club will make donations to canine-related programs that serve the communities on Cape Cod. We've provided the Barnstable K-9 unit with a bulletproof vest, sent the Chatham Animal Control officer to a search-and-rescue seminar, provided equipment for the Red Cross Animal First-Aid Course, and held agility demonstrations for the Animal Rescue League's annual fundraisers. Email Cape Cod Kennel Club to bring a program to our attention.
