The Joys of Competing
Any of these sound familiar?
- Trying to unclench your teeth to congratulate the winner when you're fifth in a class of five.
- Giving your last Cloret to a friend in the ring while your tongue is glued to the roof of your mouth.
- Buying a $35 picture where you look like something left over from Halloween, but the dog looks great.
- Getting down on your knees one more time ... while feeling your last pair of pantyhose shredding.
- Packing three suitcases for the dog, and a shoe box for yourself.
- Not screaming when the P.A. system goes berserk and you have to scrape your dog off the ceiling.
- Not strangling the clod behind you who steps on your heels and suddenly you're wearing only one shoe.
- Riding 300 miles home after losing a major to a friend and still being friends.
- Rolling out of a warm bed and crawling into a cold van at 5:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning.
- Warm puppies, wagging tails, and good friends who share what to others seems like insanity.
Author - too many forwards on the emails to be sure, but he/she/they have definitely been there and done that!
