Show Handling Class
This class focuses on the skills needed to compete in AKC-sanctioned dog shows. It is ideal for experienced Show Competitors who want further training and refinement. It is also for Show Prospects who want to or are just beginning to show their dogs competitively.
You'll find a heavy emphasis on simulating show ring conditions, with dogs and handlers going through (and being critiqued on) the same individual and group exercises you'll experience in the show ring. With the personalized format, the training tips and pointers are individualized for each handler. For young dogs and/or new handlers, the focus is on show-proofing and acclimating the dogs/handlers to the various aspects of the show ring. For more experienced dogs and handlers, the focus tends to be more on refinement and/or working on specific issues.
The Class
Drop-in, Wednesday evenings, 8:00-8:45 PM, at the Osterville Community Center.
Fees
$10.00
per class for non-members (drop-in) and $5.00 per class for members
(drop-in). Fees are payable at the registration desk.
Prerequisites
Older
dogs must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations. Puppies should be
at least 3 months old and have received their 12-week vaccinations. We
strongly recommend (but do not require) Puppy Kindergarten as your
puppy's first class. Please feel free to contact John Cappellina if you have questions on which class is more appropriate.
Registration/The First Class

you and your dog have attended other Cape Cod Kennel Club training
classes, just check in at the registration desk. If you're attending
